This Selmer Mark VI Soprano Saxophone Serial #176466 is in excellent condition with 95% or more of the original lacquer. There is very light player wear across the entire horn. There is a little lacquer wear on a few touch spots on the keys. Overall this horn is in great shape without any dents, dings, re-soldering or evidence of repairs. It’s just come back from the shop where it was cleaned, completely repadded and adjusted, so it plays wonderfully. At some point in it’s past a custom thumb tip stop was added to the back of the horn. This is not standard on these horns, view the pictures for more details. The engraving on the bell is gorgeous and crisp with leaves circling around to the back of the horn. The words “Henri Selmer Paris” are surrounded by laurel leaves and below that is the engraving “No 176466 made in France Mark VI”. This is an early 1970’s vintage horn. It’s not the 5 digit VI but it’s a good mid-range serial number and it really plays with that iconic Selmer VI sound, great intonation, and a good round tone. It comes in the original case, which is still in good shape. It comes with the original “Henri Selmer Paris” mouthpiece in great shape.
