Description

This C.G. Conn Connqueror 26M VIII alto saxophone is in very good condition with 85-90% of the original lacquer and light player wear across the horn. There are a couple of very light dings in the bottom bow guard. The majority of the finish wear is on the keywork. There is also some oxidation you can see on the facing side of the bell. Please see the pictures for more details. The serial number is “281846” makes this a vintage 1937 instrument. Engraved on the back of the body is “26M VIII PAT. APP’D For A 281846 L”. The engraved letter “L” below the serial number denotes that the horn is in low pitch. Until the mid-1940s, Conn made both high, and low pitched horns. This horn has rolled tone holes, mother-of-pearl rollers, wire key guards and silver accented key work. The engraving on the bell is beautiful with a full bust Naked Lady engraving and the words “Connqueror Made-by C.G. Conn Ltd. Elkhart-Ind. U.S.A.” This horn comes with the original double socket/sleeve style neck with “VIII” engraved on it. The neck is in great shape with no evidence of a pull down.  It comes in a new replacement case. A mouthpiece is not included.
