Description

This C.G. Conn 10M tenor saxophone with Naked Lady engraving is in very good condition with 80-85% of the lacquer remaining with general lacquer wear over the entire horn. The bell has evidence of bell lip pull down removal and the bell to body brace has been re-soldered at both body and bell points.  The bottom thumb rest has been pushed into the body slightly.  A majority of the wear to the finish is on the engraving side of the bell and bottom bow making it difficult to see parts of the engraving.  There are some light dents along the leg side of the bottom bow towards the key guard, on the back of the bottom bow is the most noticeable dent. This saxophone has mother of pearl rollers, wire key guards and rolled tone holes.  Please see pictures for details. The serial number on the horn is “289453” making this a vintage 1940 10M tenor saxophone.  The engraving on the bell reads “Made-By C.G. Conn LTD. Elkhart-Ind. U.S.A.” with the Naked Lady engraving. “10M  PAT. APP’D FOR T” is engraved on the back of the horn above the serial number and "L" below the serial number. This denotes that the horn is in low pitch. Until 1940, Conn made horns both high and low pitched. The neck is in good condition with vey minor pull down. It comes with a new custom built MTS memory foam hardshell case.
