SML Rev.D Alto Saxophone 1949 Serial #7493
Description
This SML Rev.D alto saxophone is in excellent condition with around 90% or more of the original lacquer, and only light player wear across the horn. It has just come back from the shop where it was cleaned and adjusted so it plays great. The saxophone has some older and newer pads, which are still in good shape and play well with the instrument. There is some light player wear to the touch spots and light wear across the horn, but there are no dents in the saxophone nor is there any evidence of major repairs. There is a super minor ding on the body parallel with the bottom right hand palm key. The serial number is 7493 making this a 1949 vintage alto saxophone. The engraving on the bell is incredibly ornate and runs all the way around and down the bell onto the front of the bow. "SML Strasser Marigaux Lemaire 144-146.Boul. De La Villette Paris France" is engraved above the bell keys. It comes with the original neck with a matching serial number that has no evidence of a pulldown and has "SML" engraved above the serial number. This saxophone also features the articulated low F# key, engraved joints at where the bow meets both the body and bell and the original neck plug. It comes in a good used case with one broken latch. No mouthpiece is included with this saxophone. This alto saxophone has exceptional intonation and a beautiful even tone in both the upper and lower registers.
