Description
This Yamaha Xeno YBL-822G double rotor bass trombone is a stellar bass trombone. It is in mint condition with 99%+ of the silver accent finish, lacquered finish and gold brass bell finish. Please see pictures for details. The serial number on the trombone is “563369”. The engraving on the bell reads “Yamaha Xeno Established in 1887” and “YBL822G is engraved above the serial number. “Yamaha Made in Japan EL-Y” is engraved on the mouthpiece receiver. The slide is wonderfully smooth and the triggers are nice and quiet. The blue protective tape that you see on brand new instruments is still on this horn! It comes in the original Yamaha Xeno case which is in very good used condition. No mouthpiece is included. It plays with a huge bottom register. The instrument transitions well from its lower to upper register with a great dark rich yummy sound!
This horn was designed by Douglas Yeo of the Boston Symphony. Yamaha’s YBL-822G Xeno Series Bass Trombone is the exclusive instrument of the Boston Symphony virtuoso and was designed to meet his strict requirements. Among its many premium features, the Xeno YBL-822G includes an adjustable thumb paddle and a redesigned D slide assembly for easy removal of water.
