Description
This vintage Martin “The Martin” tenor saxophone is in good condition with 50-60% of the original lacquer. There is medium player wear across the horn with lacquer crazing throughout the horn. There is evidence of dent removal in the body and a couple of key guards have been re-soldered. Please see the pictures for details. It has the original adjustable thumb hook and the engraving is very clean as the horn has never been buffed. The serial number is “153410” making this a 1945 vintage saxophone. The engraving on the bell reads “The Martin Tenor -Elkhart-Ind-U-S-A-” with flowers scrolling all the way down into the bottom bow. The neck does have the matching serial number to the horn making it the original neck. The saddle on the neck has been re-soldered and it has a couple of small dings. It has good, used plastic resonator pads and is an excellent player. Everything is original to this horn including the neck. Please see the photos for more details. It has a replacement case in good used condition and no mouthpiece is included. It has a really nice warm sound with smooth action, excellent intonation, and projection.Â
