Cleveland The Cleveland Greyhound Silver Trumpet Serial #C28802

Description

This Cleveland The Cleveland Greyhound silver trumpet is in beautiful condition.  The original silver plating on this is 99% with 50-55% of the gold wash bell remaining.  There is evidence of one or two small dent repairs to the bow of the trumpet. There is a sleeve patch on the lead pipe just before the pinky hook and the second valve tuning slide is missing its top pull knob.  The engraving on the bell is beautiful and crisp with leaves and flowers engraved. It reads “The Cleveland Greyhound Made by Cleveland Mus. Ins. Co. Clev,d O.” Dating this horn is a little complicated. King bought out Cleveland in 1925 and the subsequent serial numbers did not have a “C” in front of them. Due to a lack of any King or H.N. White marks on the horn as well as the “C” serial number we believe this is a pre-1925 horn. The horn comes in a replacement case which is still in good condition.  No mouthpiece is included. This trumpet has a nice bright sound and good intonation.

Back Bell Bow Condition: Light general wear (possible surface scratches and/or minor dents/dings).
The Bell: Minor dents and dings and minor bell edge damage.
Bell Dent Removal/Repair: Light evidence. There is a slight wave in the top edge of the bell.

The Mouthpiece: No mouthpiece is included, or other accessories.
The Stand: If pictured, not included.
The Case: Good used condition replacement case (general wear with some edge wear and visible surface scratches).
