Description
This The Buescher “Big B” Aristocrat True-Tone alto saxophone is in mint condition with 99% of the original silver plating and a beautiful gold wash bell interior. This horn has a polished silver bell and a brushed matte silver body. It has just come back from the shop where it was polished, re-padded, cleaned and adjusted so it plays great. It has a tiny dimple to the surface of the D key cover that is as small as the end of a pencil. The serial number can be found on the back of the body and reads “292946” with the “True-Tone” triangle and tuning fork along with the words “True-Tone Trademark Registered Low Pitch License Pat. Dec. 8, 1914” engraved beneath. This horn is a 1940 vintage horn with cut tone holes, ribbon key guards and all of its brown cellulose rollers. The engraving on the bell is gorgeous and goes down the entire bell and onto the bow. Near the top of the bell the signature Big “B” is engraved surrounded by scrolling leaves and elaborate engravings. Below are the words “The Buescher Aristocrat Made in Elkhart-IND. U.S.A.” “Buescher” is also engraved on the G# key. This horn comes with the original neck, which is still in good condition with no evidence of a pull down. It comes in a replacement case in good condition. No mouthpiece is included. This alto saxophone has that beautiful Buescher “Big B” sound that is so sought after. It has great overtones and fantastic intonation.
