Description
This Buescher The Buescher True-Tone gold plated alto saxophone is in excellent condition with around 90%+ of the original gold plating. The engraving on the bell is polished while the rest of the horn is brushed. There is a small touch spot where the gold plating has worn off near the thumb rest on the back of the horn and a few spots up the back of the body, most likely where it rubbed against a players body. There are some very tiny little dings in the bow that are hardly there but you can feel them. The body bell to body brace is just ever so slightly pushed in on the back of the bell and it is nearly invisible to see. It has just come back from the shop where it was re-padded, cleaned and adjusted so it plays great. The serial number can be found on the back of the body and reads “174532” with the “True-Tone” triangle and tuning fork along with the words “True-Tone Trademark Registered Low Pitch License Pat. Dec. 8, 1914” engraved beneath. This horn is a 1924 vintage horn with cut tone holes, split bell keys, wire key guards, pearl button G# key, and all of its Buescher snap in resonators. The engraving on the bell is gorgeous with swirling leaves and flowers and goes down the entire bell. The bell is engraved with the words “The Buescher Elkhart IND” This horn comes with the original neck, which is still in condition with no pull down. There are a couple of nearly invisible dings in the neck that are more felt than seen. It also comes in a replacement case in good shape. No mouthpiece is included. This alto saxophone has that beautiful Buescher sound that is so sought after. It has great overtones and fantastic intonation.
