Description
This Buescher The Buescher “Big B” Aristocrat True Tone alto saxophone is in absolutely fantastic condition with around 90% of the original lacquer and light speckle wear across the horn. It has just come back from the shop where it was polished, cleaned and adjusted so it plays great. It has a mix of old and new pads, all in great condition, and cut tone holes. It has ribbon key guards and plastic resonators. As you can see one of the rollers for the right-hand pinkie keys has been replaced. There are no dents or dings in the horn and no evidence of any major repairs. The serial number can be found on the back of the body and reads “301703” with the words “Buescher True Tone Reg. U.S. Pat. Off.” engraved beneath. The serial number dates this as an early 1942-1943 vintage horn. It also has the signature “Buescher” G# key. The engraving on the bell is gorgeous and goes down the entire bell and onto the bow. Near the top of the bell the signature Big “B” is engraved surrounded by scrolling leaves and elaborate engravings. Below that are the words “The Buescher Aristocrat Made in Elkhart -IND. U.S.A.” This horn comes with the original neck, which is still in great condition with no pull down. It also comes in a replacement case in good condition. No mouthpiece is included. This alto saxophone has that beautiful Buescher “Big B” sound that is so sought after. It has great overtones and fantastic intonation.
