Description
This Paxman 23ST double french horn is in excellent condition and is in a raw brass finish. There are almost no dents or dings to be found. The few that we were able to find are extremely minor and are more felt than seen. Looking into the bell you can see that the bell throat is just slightly out of round. The bell edge does have an extremely minor wave to it with some very light evidence of bell dent removal in the flair. The pinky hook and the hand brace are both adjustable and the resting point for the top hand brace is collapsible. This will fold down flat against the bow of the horn to fit properly in the case. The compensating fifth valve for the Bb side has a tuning slide that has extender sleeves so that you can take the Bb side down a half step to A or a whole step to Ab. Please see pictures for more details. The serial number on the french horn is “4548L”. The engraving on the bell reads “Paxman London”. “Merewether System Made in England Model 23ST” is engraved on the bell brace above the serial number. “AX” is engraved on the pinky and thumb rest braces. This french horn comes in a good used condition ProTec case. No mouthpiece is included. This horn plays great! The valves have a great action and the horn is very responsive. It has a beautiful round mellow sound.

The Case: Good used condition (General wear with some edge wear and visible surface scratches).
