Description
This vintage Olds Studio Model Herald trumpet is in very good condition. It has 50-55% of the lacquer remaining and 90-95% of the silver/nickel finish remaining. It looks like there has been some light dent removal done in the throat of the bell just past the banner hook in the middle of the bell. The bell is in very good alignment with a very slight lean to the side in the middle of the bell. There is a very small dent in the third valve tuning slide from the water key. The serial number is 231467 making this a vintage 1956-1957 trumpet. The Studio Model Herald trumpets are neaerly a foot longer than the traditional Herlad trumpets – making them the longest model for Herald trumpets out there. The engraving on the bell is easy to read and says “Studio Model Made-By F.E. Olds & Son Fullerton Calif.” It comes in the original Olds case. No mouthpiece is included.  This is a super fun horn to play! It sounds wonderful and plays with a nice big sound. The horn has super quick and quiet valves. It takes some getting use to holding this trumpet and finding the good balance point because it is so long but it is an extremely fun experience to play with the sound being displaced so far in front of you. The trumpet plays very well and it really plays great to fanfares! It has great projection and a brilliant upper register.
*Herald trumpets are often purchased in pairs or sets. If you are looking to have a set of trumpets we do have multiple available.
*Please note in order to fit the entire trumpet in one picture we did lay the bell across the valve section. The overall picture does not show the trumpet put together.
