This Olds Special Trumpet is in good condition with around 70% of the original lacquer. There is some evidence of areas with spot re-lacquering for repairs. There is evidence that a few dents were taken out of the bell and bow but overall the horn is in good shape. This trumpet just came back from being cleaned and adjusted, so it plays well. The serial number makes it a late 1940’s vintage horn. The engraving on the bell reads “Olds Special F.E. Olds & Son Los Angeles, Calif.” This horn comes in a vintage Olds case, which is still in very good condition. No mouthpiece is included. This trumpet has a warm sound and great intonation. It plays freely from top to bottom with a beautiful sound in its upper register.
