Description
This Olds Ambassador 3 valve F bell front alto horn is in excellent condition with 95%+ of the lacquered finish remaining. There are some very minor dings in the body of the horn and the bell has a few minor dings. One specifically is down by the tenon of the bell on the inside of the horn. The bell edge does have a slight wave to it. The first valve finger button and stem are likely replacements as the finish on the finger button does not match the other two and does set slightly higher. This does not affect the playability of the horn. Please see pictures. The serial number is “450846” making this a vintage 1960’s horn. The engraving on the bell reads “Ambassador Made By F.E. Olds & Son Fullerton Calif.”. No mouthpiece is included. It comes a good used condition case. This is a great playing alto horn! It has that strong signature Olds sound to it. The valves are very smooth with great action. It plays very well up and down the register with a great big bright sound!
