Description
This Lesher modified conservatory wood oboe is in excellent condition with 95% or more of the original key plating remaining. It has just come back from the shop where most of the pads were replaced and the keys were adjusted so it plays great. There has been repair work done to a crack that leads from the reed receiver down the front of the body to near the second tone hole. Please see pictures for details. The serial number on the oboe is “P1010”. The engraving on the bell reads “Lesher Elkhart, Indiana”. This is a modified oboe which means it has a all of the bells and whistles of a conservatory oboe with the exception of a few trill keys. This oboe has a split D key, an F resonance key and it does have a left-hand F key. Please see the photos for the exact key work. It also comes in an older used condition replacement case. No accessories are included. This oboe has a nice mellow sound and the intonation is good throughout the horn. It plays easily up and down the register.
