Description

This Kruspe silver trumpet is in very good condition. It has just come back from being completely cleaned buffed and flushed and it plays great. It was made in Germany right around World War II. Overall the original silver is in very good condition especially over the bell. The bell still has 70-75% of the gold wash remaining. There is some wear on the first and third valve casings, the underside of the bell near the third valve, near the spit key, the lead pipe and a little on the middle tuning slide. You can feel a tiny dent on the first valve tuning slide but it is pretty much invisible to the eye. The lead pipe does have a patch and a solder patch please see pictures. The second valve tuning slide is missing its two pull knobs and the main tuning slide is missing its stopper.  The engraving on this horn is gorgeous, clean and crisp. It reads “Sch. 212” which is situated above the image of an eagle with a gun in its claws and a french horn in its beak. Below that in script is engraved “Ed Kruspe Hoflieferant Erfurt.” There is no discernible serial number on this horn.  The first valve casing, the first valve, top cap and bottom cap all have 28 engraved on them.  The second valve casing, the second valve, top cap and bottom cap all have 29 engraved on them – though the end of the brace does cover most of the engraving on the valve casing.  The third valve casing, third valve, top cap and bottom cap all have 30 engraved on them. This horn comes in a replacement Selmer case. No mouthpiece is included. It is a fairly rare piston trumpet with excellent tone and the Kruspe pro level quality.
