This King Zephyr Series I Alto Saxophone is in excellent condition with 80–85% of the original lacquer. It has just come back from the shop where it was cleaned, adjusted, and completely repadded. There is evidence that a few dents were taken out of the bell at some point and the thumb rest was sautered back on. However, currently, there are no dents or dings on the horn. The serial number is “179693” making this a Zephyr Series I circa 1935-1936. The Art Deco Engraving on the bell is gorgeous and the words “King Zephyr Model made by The H.N. White Co Cleveland, O.” are prominently displayed. This horn comes with the original Double Socket/Sleeve Style neck, which is in great shape with no evidence of a pulldown. It comes in the original “King” case that is still in good shape. It also comes with the triple neck ring, a signature of the King Zephyr models. No mouthpiece is included. This Alto Sax has that classic King Zephyr feel. It’s got a big, focused sound, excellent intonation, and superb overtones.
