Beautiful vintage saxophone in excellent condition with 85-90% of the lacquer finish and pearl side keys.

Description

This King Super 20 tenor saxophone is in excellent condition with around 85-90% of the original lacquer and light player wear across the instrument. It has just come back from being cleaned, adjusted, and had some pads replaced so it plays very well. There are a few little dings that can be more felt than seen on the bow. There is no evidence of any major repairs. Most of the lacquer wear is confined to a few spots on the bottom of the bell and the bow. There are two screws missing for the bottom key guards and one replacement screw for one of the key guards. Please see the pictures for more details. The serial number is “315929” making this a 1950 vintage tenor saxophone. The engraving on the bell is beautiful and crisp. It reads “King Super 20 The H.N. White Co Cleveland Ohio”.  There are incredibly ornate leaves and flowers engraved around the words and down the bell. The bell keys are engraved as well.  This saxophone has mother-of-pearl rollers, octave key, pinky key, and palm keys. This tenor saxophone comes with the original sterling silver sleeve/double socket neck with a matching serial number and underslung octave key.  The neck is in good shape and there is a super tiny ding towards the back of the neck as you head towards the neck tenon that is more felt than seen. It comes in the original King case in older used condition.  No mouthpiece is included. The original metal neck plug is included. This saxophone has a warm, mellow sound that King is well known for. The intonation is spot on and the overtones are beautiful.
