Description
This King Super 20 Silversonic two-tone tenor saxophone is in excellent condition with around 95% of the lacquer remaining and 95% of the clear lacquer finish on the sterling silver bell. The bell has a beautiful gold wash interior and gorgeous gold inlay on the engraving. The horn has some very light general player wear throughout mostly concentrated on the leg side. The saxophone faces up absolutely beautifully. The silver accent palm and pinky keys show some signs of light wear to the finish at the player touch spots. The bottom thumb rest has been bent up at an angle slightly. Please see the photos for more details. The serial number is “460936” making this a 1970-1971 vintage tenor saxophone. The engraving on the bell is stunning and reads “King Super 20 Silver Sonic King Musical Instruments Eastlake Ohio” with gold inlay swirling flowers all around the engraving and down the bell. “Sterling Bell” is engraved at the base of the front of the bell. The bell keys are engraved as well. This tenor saxophone comes with the original sterling silver neck with the underslung octave mechanism. The neck is in good condition and there is evidence of a very minor pull-down and pull-down repair. Please see the pictures for details. It comes in a good used SKB replacement case. No mouthpiece is included. A good used plastic King neck plug is included. This saxophone has that iconic King sound, super mellow with warm overtones. It plays easily up and down the register with quick response.
