Gorgeous Sounding Cornet!

Description

This King Silversonic two tone cornet has 60-65% of the original lacquer, 60-65% of the clear lacquer finish over the sterling silver bell, and 85-90% of the gold wash bell remaining. We believe the lead pipe is also sterling silver due to its coloring in comparison to the bell, however it is not marked as such.  The finger buttons are all matching and are replacements.  This model has the microtuner on the main tuning slide. Please see pictures for details. The serial number is “440419” making this a 1965-1970’s vintage horn. The engraving reads “King Super 20 King Musical Instruments East Lake Ohio Silversonic” with a crown above it on the bell.  Above the engraving on the bell is “Sterling Bell” with the Sterling Silver S. It comes in the original case which does show some age wear but is still in good condition. No mouthpiece is included. The sterling silver bells on the Silversonic models gives them a classic sound. This horn is no exception and has the super-rich tone and exceptional overtones that Silversonic models are known to produce. This cornet has an exceptional brilliance in the upper register and it plays beautifully up and down. It has great response. This is probably one of the more beautiful horns that King ever made.
