Description

This King Super 20 Silversonic alto saxophone is in mint condition with 85% of the re-lacquer finish remaining and 95%+ of the clear lacquer finish on the sterling silver bell. It also has the original sterling silver neck and sterling silver bell. It has just come back from the shop where it was cleaned, adjusted, and completely re-padded. The sterling silver bell is also in fantastic shape, it has been polished. All of the silver is also original and only has some very light player wear. This saxophone has the original sterling silver neck, which is in beautiful condition, with no evidence of a pulldown and some very minor dimples. They are more felt than seen. Aside from one or two tiny dents in the bow, this horn is super clean without any other dents, dings, or evidence of major repairs.  The serial number is “408685” making this a Super 20 Series IV  1965-1966 vintage horn. The engraving on the bell is gorgeous, swirling leaves and flowers all down the bell and the words “King Super 20 Silver-Sonic The H.N. White Co. Cleveland O.” prominently displayed with “Sterling Bell”. Please note the engraved bell keys. This saxophone has the original lacquered neck plug. The original “King” case is included and it is in good used condition. No mouthpiece is included.  This alto saxophone has that classic Super 20 sound, it plays easily up and down the register with great intonation and warm overtones. Similar to all Super 20’s it has a powerful voice. The King Super 20 Silver Sonic saxophones are some of the most popular.
