Description
This King Silver Tone F trigger trombone is in beautiful condition! The finish on the sterling silver bell is so good that it is like looking in a mirror. The finish on the horn is 99%+ and is gorgeous to look at. It is missing the cap for the back of the rotor; this is not included. This trombone has had a complete overhaul. There is an extremely small dent in the slide tip (crook) on the top side. It is barely noticeable. The plating on the inner slides is near perfect and has no visible plating wear at all. The trigger was custom placed for the previous owner; this is something you may wish to custom for yourself once you see how it feels for you – this is an individual preference. This is a rare find! Based on the serial number of “244272” this is a vintage 1940’s horn – which was the hay-day for King instruments! This is when King was making a lot of their best instruments and this trombone shows that. The engraving on the bell is a piece of art. The art deco engraving is super crisp and beautiful with its gold inlay. It reads “King Silvertone Made By The H.N. White Co. Cleveland Ohio”. No mouthpiece is included. It comes in a new ProTec case. The horn plays just as beautifully as it looks! It has that great King sound that you expect from a King instrument. The 9” bell and the large bore really gives this horn a nice big sound. The sterling silver bell adds clarity and richness to the tone. This is a great horn for the player and is the perfect horn for the collector.
