Description
This King Zephyr tenor saxophone with Art Deco engraving is in very good condition with 85-90% of the finish remaining from an old re-lacquer. It has light general lacquer wear across the horn. The overall condition of this horn is very good with some minor dents and dings. The back key guard has a foot that needs to be re-soldered and the bottom thumb rest has been slightly pushed in. The serial number is “188011” making this a vintage 1936 Zephyr Series I tenor saxophone.  The Art Deco engraving on this Zephyr reads “King Zephyr Model Made by the H.N. White Co. Cleveland Ohio.”. The neck is the original socket style, not sleeve style, with the matching serial number to the horn. There is general player wear on the neck and the saddle has been re-soldered. The saddle has a non-original replacement screw and the brace closest to the neck tenon is starting to separate. The case is a replacement vintage case in good used condition. No mouthpiece included. A good used metal neck plug is included. This Zephyr plays great with good intonation and has a beautiful classic King sound.
