Description
This 3B Concert valve trombone is in good condition with light general player wear. It has 85-90% of its lacquered finish remaining. There is some light oxidation on the top of the first valve casing on the left-hand side as well as some light oxidation on the lead pipe around the valve section area. There are a couple more spots of oxidation on the top of the slide as you go down towards the slide tip. The slide tip crook is missing its guard and it is not included. There is a sleeve patch on the lead pipe between valves one and two and there are patches on the third valve tuning slide crooks. Please see pictures for details. The serial number is “422700” making this a vintage 1965-1970’s trombone. The engraving on the bell reads “King 3-B Concert” with “The HN White Co. King Cleveland Ohio on the counterweight. There is more to the engraving on the bell however it is so feint that it is too hard to read. The tuning slides are loose and the valves are all in good working condition. It comes in a good used condition King case that shows some wear to the outside corners. The middle latch on the case is broken and the handle over the middle latch is missing the plastic portion. No mouthpiece or stand are included. This is a strong playing valve trombone! It has a nice core sound and it plays smoothly from top to bottom. The horn has that big projecting King sound that you would expect with an eight-inch bell. Overall, this is a great little valve trombone with super quick valves.
