Description
This King 3 valve F bell front alto horn is in very good condition with 80-85% of the lacquered finish remaining. There is the start of some very minor lacquer crazing in the bell. All of the tuning slides are currently stuck. The mouthpiece receiver does need to be re-soldered on the inside that is causing a very tiny leak – not enough to really impact the sound. There is almost no lacquer remaining on the mouthpiece receiver. Please see pictures. The serial number is “862927” making this a vintage 1981 horn. The engraving on the bell reads “King U.S.A.”. You will need a french horn mouthpiece to play this alto horn. No mouthpiece is included. It comes in the original case in good used condition. This valves on this horn are very quick and smooth. It plays very easily up and down the register with a big bold sound.
