This F. Lorée Wood Oboe Serial #20 is in excellent condition and is a beautiful Parisian made instrument. It has just come back from the shop where it was adjusted, so it plays great. The pads are a mix of old and new, but are all in very good condition. The serial number looks to be 20 although with this brand name it’s uncertain if that is actually the serial number or a model number. There is evidence of one grain crack repair that goes about 3 inches up on the bell of this instrument but it’s almost impossible to see on the pictures. There is little to no player wear on the keys. The grain on this oboe is beautiful and worth noting as well. This instrument has the split D key, the F resonance key but it does not have the left hand F. Please see the photos for exact key work. The bell reads ” F. Lorée Paris”, the same inscription can be found on the second joint. The intonation is good throughout the horn and it plays easily up and down the register. F. Lorée oboes have been a favorite of American professional oboe players for decades. It comes in the original case also in very good used condition although there are some random numbers painted on the top from previous owners and bottom part of the left hand latch is missing. Please see pictures for specifics. This instrument has the iconic Lorée sound that makes it such a dominate name brand among oboe aficionados.
*Note: If the serial number begins with “isi” this means we were unable to locate or read the original serial number and therefore it was assigned an automatically generated serial number from our system.
