80-85% of a re-lacquer finish with the  trademark nail file G#, mother-of-pearl rollers, X body brace, wire key guards and rolled tone holes

Description

This C.G. Conn “transitional” baritone saxophone is in great condition with 80-85% of a re-lacquer finish. The X body brace has been pushed in slightly to both the bell and the body.  The body post for the right hand palm keys has been pushed in slightly to the body as has the bottom thumb rest.  The bell lip has some minor bell lip pull down.  There is a replacement foot attachment on the back of the horn at the bottom key. There are multiple visible re-solder points at key guards.  There are some dents and dings throughout the horn, nothing is major. Please see pictures for more details. Overall, the horn is in great shape. The serial number can be found on the back of the body and reads “M251134” making this a vintage 1932 horn with the words “PATD. DEC. 8. 1914. 1119954 B” engraved above it and the letter “L” engraved below it. This denotes that the horn is in low pitch. Until 1940, Conn made horns both high and low-pitched. It has the trademark nail file G#, mother-of-pearl rollers, X body brace, wire key guards and rolled tone holes. Engraved on the bell are the words “Made by C.G. Conn Ltd Elkhart-IND U.S.A.”. This neck is in very good condition. There is some extremely minor pull down that is barely felt. This baritone saxophone comes in an older used condition case. No mouthpiece is included. This saxophone has that classic Conn big, warm sound and plays wonderfully in the lower register.
