Description
This C.G. Conn baritone saxophone is in good condition with 65-70% of the lacquer remaining. There are multiple visible re-solder points at different key guards and braces on the horn. The neck tenon receiver on the U tube has been replaced. There is some evidence of dent removal in the bell and evidence of bell lip pull-down removal. There is a minor amount of pull-down on the bottom of the lip remaining. The X body brace is pushed in slightly on the body side of the saxophone. Please see the pictures for more details. The serial number can be found on the back of the body and reads “M267047” making this a vintage 1935 horn with the words “PATD. DEC. 8. 1914. 1119954 B” engraved above it and the letter “L” engraved below it. This denotes that the horn is in low pitch. Until 1940, Conn made both high and low-pitched saxophones. It has the trademark nail file G#, mother-of-pearl rollers, X body brace, wire key guards, and rolled tone holes. The engraving of the Naked Lady with full bust is crisp and has “Made-By C.G. Conn LTD. Elkhart-IND. U.S.A.” featured prominently below the engraving. This neck is in good condition. It has evidence of pull-down removal and you can still feel very slightly where the pull-down was. This baritone saxophone comes in a new ProTec case. No mouthpiece is included.
