Description
This C.G. Conn 42H Ballroom Model gold plated trombone is in excellent condition and has very light general player wear. It has 95%+ of the gold-plated finish remaining. At the slide tip crook on both ends it looks like there is some light re-soldering as well as at the main tuning slide dial. This trombone has the Ballroom Model tuning slide in slide. The serial number is “270758” making this a vintage 1930 trombone. The engraving on the bell is gorgeous and reads “Made By C.G. Conn LTD. Elkhart, Ind. U.S.A.” with extensive floral filigree around the entire bell flair and up the bell throat with a sailing ship in the water above. “42H” is engraved on the slide receiver and “C.G. Conn LTD. ” in a banner across the counterweight. The tuning slide is loose. It comes in a good used condition case. No mouthpiece is included. This is a really exciting trombone to play. It has a little more weight in the slide hand as the main tuning slide is in the slide which gives it a different feel that seems like it gives the sound a little more weight as well. The trombone projects great with a huge sound when you want it and a delicate sound when you need it. The slide is nice and smooth. This has a rich tone to it and is really free blowing. It sounds great from top to bottom!
