Description
This Buescher Aristocrat True Tone 141 alto saxophone is in excellent condition with 85-90% of the original lacquer and some light speckle wear across the horn. It has just come back from the shop where it was cleaned and adjusted so it plays wonderfully. The pads are a mix of old and new all in great shape with all of its Buescher snap in resonators. It has ribbon key guards and all of its brown cellulose rollers. Currently there are no dents or dings in the horn but there is evidence that a few small dents were taken out of the bow at some point in the past. There is evidence of bell lip pull down removal with just the slightest bit of a wave to the bell edge along the bottom of the bell. The bottom thumb rest has been pushed in very slightly, you can hardly tell but it is there. The serial number is “355015” making this a 1955-1960’s vintage horn. Below the serial number, there is an engraving “141 Buescher True Tone Reg. U.S. Pat. Off.” “Buescher” is engraved on the G# key.  The bell is engraved with the words “Buescher Aristocrat Elkhart-IND.” This horn comes with the original neck which is still in good condition and has only one very minor dent. Please see the pictures for more details. It also comes in a replacement case in good condition. No mouthpiece is included. This alto saxophone has that classic “fat tone” that Bueschers are known for. It also closely follows the design of Buescher’s “Top Hat & Cane” Model 400’s or known as a transitional 400 model with the placement of the bell keys on the back of the bell and the expansive bell lip that wraps around the rim to the underside. The sound is very similar to a 400 and this particular horn is a great player, very responsive in the upper register and very warm in the lower.
