Description
This Buescher Aristocrat True Tone 140 alto saxophone is in good condition with around 60-65% of the original lacquer and medium speckle wear across the horn. It has just come back from the shop where it was cleaned and adjusted, so it plays great. The pads are a mix of old and new, but all are in great shape. There is some very light evidence of dent removal in the bow. You cannot see it but if you run your hand along the bottom bow you can feel just slightly where there has been some dents removed. There is a super small dent on the back of the body just above the key guard that is easier felt than seen. There is no evidence of any major repairs. This saxophone has ribbon key guards, original brown cellulose rollers and its Buescher snap in resonators. The serial number is “346184” making this a 1951 vintage horn. Below the serial number there is an engraving “140 Buescher True Tone Reg. U.S. Pat. Off.”. The bell is engraved with the words “Buescher Aristocrat Elkhart-IND. U.S.A.” It also has “Buescher” engraved on the G# key. This horn comes with the original neck which is still in good condition. There are a couple of matching dents from the octave mechanism being pushed down and one dent in the side of the neck. Please see the pictures for more details. It also comes in the original case which is in older condition still in usable shape. No mouthpiece is included. This alto saxophone has that classic “fat tone” that Bueschers are known for and in terms of ergonomics, it is very similar to the “Big B” Buescher.Â
