1951 Vintage horn with 90-95% of original lacquer. It has a similar sound to the “Big B.”

Description

This Buescher Aristocrat 140 alto saxophone is in excellent condition with around 90-95% of the original lacquer. It has just come back from the shop where it was cleaned and adjusted so it plays great. The pads are a mix of old and new all in great shape with a combination of Buescher snap in resonators and plastic resonators.  This saxophone has ribbon key guards, the “Buescher” G# key, and its brown cellulose rollers. There is some light evidence of dent removal on the leg side of the bottom bow and there are some very small dings on the bottom bow and into the bell.  You can hardly see the dings unless the light is shining just right.   There is also a couple of small dents about halfway up the body on the back side just under the key cluster. The serial number is “345876” with “140” directly under the serial number making this an 1951 horn. The bell is engraved with the words “Buescher Aristocrat Elkhart – IND. U.S.A.” This horn comes with the original neck which is in condition, although it has extremely minor pull down and a light dent from where the octave key would have been pushed against the neck. It comes in a replacement case in good shape. No mouthpiece is included. This alto sax has that classic “fat tone” that Bueschers are known for and in terms of ergonomics, it is very similar to the “Big B” Buescher.
