Description
This Bach Stradivarius Mt. Vernon cornet has 60-70% of the original lacquer. The horn is in very good physical condition, just back from the shop where all the slides were pulled and the valves were cleaned up. One of the water keys has been re-soldered back onto the horn. There is a very slight wave in the edge of the bell and light evidence of bell dent removal. Please see pictures for details. The serial number is “17693” which makes it a 1980 vintage horn. The bell reads “Stradivarius Model Vincent Bach Corporation Mt. Vernon New York U.S.A.” and the side of the valve casing is marked “V. Bach Mt. Vernon N.Y. U.S.A.” The other side of the valve casing has “ML” above the serial number. It still has the original brown leather case in good used condition. The interior felt does show some age wear and one of the latches is broken. No mouthpiece is included. This horn has the legendary sound of the Mt. Vernon Bach horns. It has a fantastic rich round sound and plays with great delicacy as well as big power when you need it. The valves are super smooth and have good action. This horn just plays great!
